Whitney Cerak

We, the Cerak family, are elated beyond description at Whitney’s return home. It is so much more than we ever imagined three months ago.We would like to restate our plans of not speaking to the media. There is still much on the road to Whitney’s full recovery. We want to thank the media for the respect they have shown of our privacy in this time. And ask that the same courtesy given us would be extended to our family and friends.

July 11, 2006 "He who conceals his sins does not prosper..."

“He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” Proverbs 28:13

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9

“Whoever is thirsty, let Him come; and whoever wishes let him take the free gift of the water of life.” Revelation 22:17

What amazing love God has for all! We simply need to confess our sins, believe in Christ’s work on the cross and His resurrection, and one day join with those who have gone on before us. As we pray for the other families of this event, we are filled with comfort because we know their loved ones are Christians and in Heaven with Christ today!
“The best of life on earth is a glimpse of Heaven; the worst of life on earth is a glimpse of hell. For Christians, this present life is the closest they will come to hell. For unbelievers, it is the closest they will come to Heaven.” (Randy Alcorn from his book, “Heaven”)
Please, don’t guess where you will spend eternity…KNOW it for certain. There is no salvation apart from Jesus Christ and his redemptive work.
“But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (Jesus Christ from His Book, “The Bible”).

Monday…it is amazing! The time seems to go so slowly and yet it flies by at the same time. To remember what Whitney was like 2 ½ months ago and then to see her today…absolutely amazing! God is doing some wondrous things in her body. After a good night of sleep Whitney went to her therapies. She reminds us she is just fine and doesn’t need the therapy and then wheels herself off to do her daily work. She continues to work very hard even though she feels there is no need.

This evening the professor, from TU, who is keeping tabs on Carly through her internship, came by. Whitney had a very pleasant conversation with him and Carly. Her spontaneity and comfort in conversation improve daily. Her ankle is loosening up as well, and her leg looks better…the scars are fading…the swelling is all gone…in physical therapy they work her leg to regain muscle tone. She lifts some light weight with her left arm to give it strength and to stretch out the elbow.

Our doctor from Spectrum called today with news of Whit’s CAT scan. The news is all good!!! Thank you, God! All is fine and normal.

The day is over…Carly and Whitney are asleep by now…tomorrow is another day. Praise be to God!

In Christ alone, Whit’s dad

Dear Ceraks,
Thanks again for the encouraging news on Whitney and your wonderful words of inspiration.

Another great book on Heaven is "90 Minutes in Heaven" by Don Piper. Even my 9 year old read it and was fascinated!

It is so awesome to hear of all that the Lord is doing in Whit's life. Such goodness comes from all of her pain she has endured.

Your families steadfast love and through the thousands of prayers she is healing and making giant steps each day.

I was sad to miss her pictures on the Today Show---if there is a way to put them on this blog it would be wonderful to see her.

The world is seeing your families faith in God,the outpouring of prayer, and the strength that comes from within through these hard times. Stand fast and believe and he will provide.

Much love,
a mom in mt zion

Dear Newell,
Whitney likes to eat, likes to sleep and doesn't want you fussing over her (I'm fine I don't need therapy) but off she goes to her therapies. With a chuckle and tongue in cheek I'll bet.
She's definitely getting better, she sounds like fun to be around. Good sense of humor and very much a normal teenager.
I liked your ministry statement today, I have thought that very same thing many times, thanking God that the problems of this life are the cloest I'll ever get to hell. And feeling sorrow for the lost.

I am so excited to hear or Whitney's progress! God is so good and faithful and I am so glad that He takes care of his children.

A week or so ago I asked you if you would pray for our trip to columbus, OH. We are currently here and things are seeming positive, except for the job hunt. We have to back to Buffalo by Thursday, but just continue to pray for us.

Thanks
Deni

Ceraks,

I have followed your blog since day one and am continually encouraged by your faith. Whitney is never far from my thoughts.

Today, in particular as i read this post, it rang home for me as i have been in thinking and discussing what heaven will be with a friend. Praise Jesus that he uses unlikely people, to bring us messages of hope and truth.

Faithfully I will continue to read and be uplifted by your today, everyday trust in the Lord - that His will be done.
